Play Therapy and Child Psychotherapy

Play is vital to every child's development, play encourages emotional, social, cognitive, physical growth. Play Therapy offers children expression and exploration of issues and concerns in their most natural language, that of Play. Play offers the child communication with adults non-verbally, symbolically and in an action oriented way.

Play therapy is a developmentally sensitive therapeutic modality in which a trained play therapist uses the therapeutic powers of play to help children prevent or resolve psycho-social difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development. Play therapy is relationship based. The power of therapy comes from the strength of relationship between the therapist and the child.
Play therapists use approaches, interventions that are developmentally age and stage appropriate.
